This project is a good introduction to making cables. Participants will learn three sizes of cable - right twist (2 stitches), a four-stitch cable and a six-stitch cable. Students will have plenty of practice as they proceed through this project. They will then be able to move on to more complicated cabling.
Skills required to take the class: Casting on, Knit and purl stitches, knitting in the round, simple decreases (K2tog) - this will also be reviewed in class.
Class 1 will be primarily taken up with casting on the stitches and knitting the ribbing. If you have those skills already and would prefer to join the class in session 2, you will receive a $10.00 discount on the class fee. If you choose to join the class during the second session instead of the first, you must come to class with the ribbing complete. The pattern calls for 2 inches, but you can shorten it to suit your needs.
