Who doesn't like a pair of hand knit socks? Leslie is back to teach this perennial favorite! The possibilities for sock knitting are endless. See a pretty lace repeat you want to add to something? Dreaming of a serpentine cable? You can add them to socks! In this class, however, you'll learn the basics: turning the heel, shaping the toe, and finally, mastering the kitchener stitch. Beware though - we warn everyone that sock knitting is addictive!
Materials: Worsted weight machine washable yarn. We recommend either 1 ball of Regia 8 ply, or 2 skeins of Malabrigo Rios or Berroco Ultra Wool, size 4 or 5 double pointed needles, Yankee Knitter Basic Socks for the Whole Family pattern, normal knitting notions and accessories.
Required skills: You should be able to cast on, knit and purl, and knit in the round on double pointed needles.
Fine Print: You will pay the instructor the full class fee on the first night of class. We require you to use yarn purchased at our store for all classes. Students receive a 10% discount on all class supplies, while the class is running.
Please note: We require that yarns used in our classes are purchased from us. Students receive a 10% discount on class supplies while the class is running.
